Are You Getting Enough Sleep?

July 20, 2020 By adrian gomez

Sleep

Most people do not understand the importance of getting enough sleep. When you are asleep, that is your body’s time to recover from daily activities. It gives your mind and body time to rest and relax. When you deprive it of that R&R it could be exposed to higher risk of injuries or other health concerns. If you do not have a good sleep schedule, it could lead to daily fatigue, mood changes, and unhealthy weight fluctuations. When your body gets a good amount of rest, it is able to work better and fight harder against bacteria or viruses, to keep you from getting sick. Another benefit from good sleep hygiene also includes a healthy heart. When your body is at rest during sleep, you blood pressure goes down. This gives your heart time to rest and not work as hard. If your heart does not get that time to relax, it could lead to high blood pressure and other heart diseases by working overtime. There are many things you can try to get on a good sleep schedule such as, turning off all electronics at least an hour and a half before laying down.
