Sport Related Physical therapy takes movements from a specific sport or activity that you participate in and incorporates them into a physical therapy plan. That way, those muscles and joints can be trained to move correctly. When muscles are trained to move correctly, it reduces risk of injury in the long run. When setting up an appointment, we ask, “Is there something you are wanting to get back to?” Usually, patients have an answer right away! Whether they play golf, basketball, soccer, skiing, walking in general, or any other sport or activity our PT’s will have a plan for you!
Our Physical Therapists will take your baseline and your goals, and then evolve a PT plan around the sport, hobby, or activity you want to get back to. The goal is to not only, get you back to playing or performing. We also want to make sure you are doing so safely and correctly. PT, Max, is a golfer himself and he knows many movements within that sport that cause pain or injuries when done incorrectly. He also knows how to correct those movements to reduce that pain and injury risk. When treating a patient, the physical therapists will also give the patient a plan to help reduce their risk of that injury from reoccurring.
